Earning Pension Benefits

You earn pension benefits based on the total amount of contributions required to be made on your behalf by your Employer(s). You are neither required nor allowed to make contributions to the Fund on your own behalf. All contributions are paid for you by your Employer(s) and are generally calculated as a percentage of the Covered Earnings you receive from each Employer.

The Plan provides for five (5) types of benefits:

  • Regular Pension Benefits
  • Disability Pension Benefits
  • Earning Additional Benefits as a Pensioner
  • Retirement Account Benefits (RAB)
  • Death Benefits (both post-retirement and pre-retirement)

The type of benefit you or your spouse or other beneficiary may receive depends on individual circumstances. Go to the Navigation Bar on the left and click on the various links to find out more about the benefits offered under the Plan and whether you are eligible for them.
