Vesting
You become vested in the Fund (which means you can never lose your pension benefit) generally after you complete five (5) years of Vesting Service. Once you are vested, you can start to receive your benefit as early as age 55, if you retire. During the course of your career and before you are vested, if you stop working in Covered Employment completely or earn less than $750 in Covered Earnings in a calendar year you will have a Break in Service. If you fail to become vested in the Plan, you may still be eligible for a Pre-1968 Retirement Account Benefit. Click on the links below to find out about:
